We will start with a short studio tour and intro to the basics of clay and handbuilding. During this workshop Beth will walk you through the process of ceramic handbuilding using the slab clay to create two small/medium plates.

You may explore nature based items such as leaves, grass and flowers to press into your ceramic pieces. Feel free to bring items  from home or do a quick forage on the property.

At the end of the workshop, your pieces will be stored away to slowly dry, and they will be bisque and glaze fired based on your glaze choices. Your pieces will be ready no later than 3 weeks after the workshop, at which time you can come by and pick them up.

The workshop will be held on the covered back deck of the main ceramics studio, which offers a peaceful view of a garden and country grass field.
